Laszlo BARTA (1902 - 1961). Trio of figures. Drypoint signed lower right, numbered 47/100. Slightly yellowed. Framed. (not examined outside the frame). Dimensions: 20 x 24.5cm. Sheet: 43 x 30cm.
Provenance: Estate of Monsieur Louis Thirion, furniture in the mansion built in 1923 by Gibert et Ogé, which has remained in the family ever since.

Laszlo Barta was a painter who lived from 1902 to 1961. He was known for his paintings in various styles, including Fauvism, Expressionism, Cubism and Abstraction. Barta arrived in Paris in the 1920s and became associated with Fauvist painters such as Matisse, Dufy and Gleizes, evolving his style throughout his career and even studying mosaics in Ravenna.
