Provenance: Estate of Monsieur Louis Thirion, furniture from the private mansion built in 1923 by Gibert et Ogé, which has remained in the family ever since.
Antoine-René Giguet was born in Brouvelieures, France, in 1920. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Nancy under Victor Prouvé from 1935 to 1938. In 1939-1940, he attended the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Giguet's work was presented at the Pavillon de Lorraine at the Exposition Universelle des Arts et Techniques in Paris in 1937, where he exhibited engravings and tapestries.
