Pierre MOLINIER (Agen 1900 - Bordeaux 1976)
La poupée
Bearing annotations on the back. Vintage silver print.
Circa 1964.
Probably an unsuccessful attempt at "La poupée" for Molinier.
Size : 8.7 x 11.7 cm
In front of the canvas of "Skin d'Amourdo" (1965). The legs in fishnet stockings are those of Pierre Molinier. The artist put a broomstick in one pant leg to create the illusion. As for the painting "Skin d'Amourdo", which dates the photo, it was inspired by the transvestite Skindo, who had taken refuge in his home in Bordeaux around 1962. Molinier would go on to paint several portraits of Skindo, making him a recurring character in his photomontages.
