Late 19th-early 20th century octagonal round box in 18k (750 thousandths) yellow gold featuring champlevé enamels with alternating plant motifs on transparent red "Lal Zamin" enamel adorned with diamond leaves and rose-cut diamonds in the "kundan" gold leaf setting technique. On the other sides in white enamel, rich colored enamel decorations enriched with different types of birds. Birds are an integral part of Indian art, both naturally and in terms of symbolism and dreams. The inside of the lid is enameled green, with a flower in the center. Finely engraved and enameled plant decoration under the box. From a private collection of a Belgian noble family. Enamels from Jaipur, Rajasthan.
