The arms engraved on the blade are those of the Capponi family
Capponi family, originally from Florence in the 14th century. This family served the interests of the Florentine Republic throughout the 15th and 16th centuries, as well as the Medici clan. A branch established itself in Lyon in the 16th century, and was one of the city's leading bankers. Catherine Angelique de Capponi (1650 - 1686), Baroness de Feugerolles, was the last French
last representative of the name in France. She married Pierre Hector de Charpin des Halles, comte de Souzy, on February 16, 1676. This knife may have belonged to her.
