Rare first edition of this anti-slavery work, almost the entire edition of which was, it is said, bought by the large West Indian landowners who opposed the abolition of slavery [which was promulgated in 1848].

Vicaire pages 257 - 258 indicates that it is not in the B. N. F. nor announced in the Bibliographie de France.
