Sigismund Malatesta or Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta, lord of Rimini, Fano and Cesena from 1295 to 1500. He was born on June 19, 1417 in Brescia and died on October 7, 1468 in Rimini at the age of 57. He was a condottier and member of the Malatesta family. He was famous for his treachery and provocation of the mores of the time. He was considered by his contemporaries to be one of the most formidable military leaders of his time.
