Rarely executed sketchbook sheet from Sketchbook 89, densely packed with detail, showing Kirchner's partner Erna Schilling from Berlin, who had followed him to Switzerland in 1921. The interior of the "Haus in den Lärchen" above Frauenkirch/Davos, which the couple lived in until 1923, can be seen in the background. There is another portrait of Erna in the same sketchbook (cf. Presler Skb 89-41).
