made in Maggini copy, double purfling, a dendrochronological study revealed a violin by Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume made with the same spruce. Two-piece back of beautiful maple with regular waves, ribs of the same wood, spruce top with rather large and regular pores, orange-brown varnish on a gilded background (various breaks restored).
