Léo LAPORTE BLAIRSY (1867-1923), Direct-cut marble sculpture, signed on the base.

A talented sculptor, he studied with Falguière and Mercié at the Beaux-Arts in Paris. A leading figure in Art Nouveau, Léo LAPORTE BLAIRSY exhibited at the 1900 Exposition Universelle and won a silver medal.
Our work, with its drapery and enigmatic subject, is similar to the famous sculpture "L'épave" (The Shipwreck) in the Musée des Arts de Nantes.
