50 x 64 cm
Note:
Sunil Das was born in Calcutta on August 4, 1939 and died on August 10, 2015 at the age of 75. He was an Indian expressionist painter specializing in depictions of horses and bulls, male-female relations and women in their sexual emancipation and solitude. He was a founding member of the Society of Contemporary Indian Artists. After visiting Spain in the 60s, and attending a series of bullfights, he produced several drawings and paintings of bulls. These drawings capture the speed, power and energy of these bovines, symbolic of the energy, aggression and power of modern times, and of his own untamed youthful spirit invested with a sense of liberation.
