Japan, late 19th century Inrô with two compartments in negoro lacquer, decorated in hira and polychrome takamaki-e, with a carp emerging from the waves, next to a pine tree. With a netsuke in deer horn, decorated in light relief with a figure sitting on faggots next to a pine tree. (Wear and chips on the inrô, cracks on the netsuke). Dim. inrô: 5.8 x 7.7 cm - Diam. netsuke: 3.8 cm.
