Japan, Edo period, early 19th century Mingei-type Katakuchi, long-spouted bowl on flared foot, in red lacquered wood, with black lacquered rim and foot. Traces of a metal wire at the foot, helping to hold the two parts together to form the object. (Spout glued back; wear) Height 12 cm - Diameter 18.5 cm Note: the term Mingei refers to a whole range of popular handicrafts that became an artistic movement in the first half of the 20th century.
