Japan, Edo period, 18th century Inrô with six compartments, of narrow elongated form, in ro-iro lacquer, decorated in takamaki-e and hiramaki-e gold and silver, with Shoki, the hunter of Oni, his sword in hand, on one side, the other side decorated with a bamboo; the interior in nashiji and fundame lacquer.
