A GILT-COPPER FIGURE OF BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI Nepal, Transitional period, ca. 12th c. H. 6,4 cm Seated in vajrasana on a lotus base with his right hand lowered in bhumisparshamudra while the left is resting on his lap, wearing diaphanous monastic robe leaving his right shoulder bare, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows running into his nose-bridge, smiling lips, elongated earlobes, his curled hair continuing into the ushnisha and a flaming head-halo behind, the reverse with tapering pin for attachment, on perspex base.
