A GILT-COPPER FIGURE OF BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI

Seated in vajrasana on a lotus base with his right hand lowered in bhumisparshamudra while the left is resting on his lap, wearing diaphanous monastic robe leaving his right shoulder bare, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows running into his nose-bridge, smiling lips, elongated earlobes, his curled hair continuing into the ushnisha and a flaming head-halo behind, the reverse with tapering pin for attachment, on perspex base.
Collection Bock, Berlin, according his record from an old Berlin diplomatic property, acquired by him in the 1960s, sold at Nagel, 8.11.2002, lot 1258 - Wear to gilding
