A BRONZE FIGURE OF AKSHOBHYA
Tibet, 14th c.

Seated in vajrasana on a lotus base with his right hand in bhumisparshamudra while the left is resting on his lap, wearing dhoti, scarf floating around his shoulders, bejewelled, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes, elongated earlobes with pierced ear ornaments, his hair combed in a high chignon and secured with an elaborate tiara, re-sealed.
From an old and important German private collection, collected between 1950 and 1987, collection number C25 (BT101)
