A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF HAYAGRIVA
Tibet, 17th/ 18th c.

Standing in pratyalidhasana on a shaped plinth set on a base cast with floralized ornaments, both hands in the tarjanimudra, wearing skirt, scarf floating around his shoulders, garland of severed heads, channavira, snake-ornaments, bejewelled, his face displaying a fierce expression with bulging eyes below raised eyebrows, open mouth showing fangs and a double row of teeth, elongated earlobes with ear-ornaments, red coloured flaming hairdo set with a horse-head and secured with a skull tiara, unsealed.
