A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF SYAMATARA
Tibet, 16th c.
H. 12,2 cm
Seated in lalitasana on a lotus base with her right foot restring on a smaller lotus issued by the main one, her right hand in varadamudra while the left is showing the vitarkamudra, each hand holding the stem of a lotus flowering along their upper arms, wearing sari, jewellery set with turquoise beads, her face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows, raised urna at her forehead, elongated earlobes with ear ornaments and her hair combed in a chignon secured with a five-leaf tiara, unsealed.
