A COPPER-INLAID BRONZE FIGURE OF A LAMA
Tibet, early 16th c.
H. 12,7 cm
Seated in vajrasana on a lotus base with his right hand in vitarkamudra while the left is resting on his lap supporting the kalasha, wearing monastic garment including an underskirt and a mantle covering his left shoulder, both finely engraved with various musters, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows that run into the nose-bridge, smiling lips and his head topped with the specific bonnet, the reverse of the base engraved with a short inscription, sealed.
