Compte rendu au roi, par M. Necker, directeur général des finances. In the month of January 1781.

Published in January 1781, the last year of Necker's first ministry, the compte-rendu seeks to introduce a little transparency into the workings of the royal administration by making the nation's accounts public for the first time. In it, Necker details the workings of the royal finances, the principles of administration, and the country's financial situation.
