Indopersan silk carpet (silk warp, weft and pile), India, circa 1950-1980

The rug is decorated with an ivory polylobed mihrab enhanced by an elegant stylized floral design on a turquoise background with floral motifs. The entire composition is framed by two cartouches with a succession of small mihrabs. A navy blue border with flower garlands is framed by numerous counter-borders.
