Rare poem in honor of the wedding of Charles IX and Elisabeth of Austria.
Amadis Jamyn had made a name for himself with Ronsard through a few pieces of poetry, and the great poet took him under his protection. As a result, he was appointed secretary to the Chamber of Charles IX. This position made it well worth his while to write a poem on the occasion of his master and king's nuptials.
Three editions appeared at the same time in 1570 in Paris, Lyon and Rouen, without any one of them being given priority.
