INFORMATION: The small, now vanished chateau depicted in this watercolor is the Ermitage de Montmorency. It was made famous by JJ Rousseau, who stayed there for several years and wrote
"La Nouvelle Héloïse". The chateau was remodeled in the mid-19th century (as it appears in this painting by Maclet) and later became a rest home.
