BAR2 JOE BAR TEAM Vents d'Ouest Three and a half Morini, original illustration for a diary after the release of the first album in 1991. Signed. India ink and colored inks on paper 14 × 9.8 cm (5.51 × 3.86 in.) This drawing is also from the Joe Bar Team Agenda. And like the previous one, it depicts a superb 350 cm3 Italian machine. And all the old fogies reading these lines and looking at this drawing will of course have recognized the Moto Morini 350 Sport, better known as the "Three and a Half Morini". But what else can be said about this little marvel? "First of all, it's worth noting that the great Giacomo Agostini (the most successful motorcycle racer of all time) made his debut on a motorcycle of this make. The model shown here dates from 1975. The Italian engineer who designed it came from Ferrari and didn't skimp on innovations. The most spectacular of these was the layout of the combustion chambers, placed not in the cylinder heads but inside the pistons (whose upper part was hollow and open at the top). Apart from this technological specificity, everything about this machine, from its V-twin cylinder to its low-slung half-guidelines and racing seat, smacks of motor sport and Italy. And its rider is no exception! You can even tell by looking at him that he must add a hint of sweat and grease to these pleasant transalpine fragrances.
