Historic alliance ring with Old European cut diamonds and small sapphires Platinum 950 (tested), 3 Old European cut diamonds (total c. 2.43 ct., calculated weight), slightly tinted white to tinted white (J-K), VS1-2; 8 tiny faceted, square-shaped blue sapphires (total c. 0.12 ct., calculated weight). 5.34 grams. Ring size 53. The diamonds in the historic Old European cut were set using the bezel technique, the tiny sapphires are flanked in a quatrefoil around the centered larger diamond. The ring top and the frame with the ring shoulders are finely cut and engraved in an ornamental openwork design.
