* FRAGMENTARY STATION OF VISHNU CENTRAL INDIA - XVE/XVIIth century
Beige sandstone
Vishnu, standing on a lotus, holds the conch shell (shanka) in his left hand, while with his right hand he performs the gesture of giving (varada mudra). The other arms are fragmentary, but we can make out the club (gada) resting on his elbow. He wears a high tiara, his attribute, and a lotiform nimbus radiates around his head. He is surrounded by his goddesses, Lakshmi and Bhu, and what could be his personified attributes.
