Agreements between the Marquis de Sade and his mother, after the death of the Comte de Sade. Comte de Sade died on January 24 at Grand-Montreuil. Under the terms of the marriage contract (1753), the countess receives, as "donee of the late lord count her husband", 6,000 livres, jewelry (for 9,000 livres), a pension of 1,200 livres, enjoyment of one of the châteaux, his "clothes and nippes". The Marquis is "sole heir to the Comte de Sade his father". 5 articles regulate the agreements between the marquis and his mother. The marquis will pay her a "pension viduelle" (widow's pension) of 1,200 livres per semester; he will provide her with a life annuity of 600 livres, with the countess renouncing "her right of habitation" and leaving the marquis "the master of disposing of the château and the furniture which his marriage contract grants him the enjoyment of"; with, as security for payments, "the usufruct of part of one of the lands of La Coste, Mazan and Saumane"...
