Poem published in 1920 in the journal Action, cahiers de philosophie et d'art (no. 5, October 1920) and reprinted by Aragon in Œuvres poétiques in 1974 among the "poèmes écartés de Feu de joie" (Au Sans Pareil, 1920, completed December 10, 1919).
The manuscript, carefully written in black ink on graph paper, was used for printing in Action. The poem is divided into 5 parts: Quitte ou double (8 lines), La poésie intime (7 lines), Tric-trac (7 lines), Ni chair ni poisson (6 lines), Aujourd'hui homme congelé (6 lines).
