His book La Doctrine céleste had just been condemned by the Lyon judges on December 28, 1839. But in reality, as he wrote to the Queen of the French, it had been condemned in secret, long before "the comedy that was played that day by the poor jurors who had all other prompter than their poor consciences and who were none other than the machines by which the prompter had the truth crucified on December 28 in 1839, as well as the executioners of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem in the year 33 by the intrigues of the Jewish priests"...
