Merck (1864-1958) was the wife of the extremely wealthy German chemist Willy Merck (1860-1932), owner of the Merck firm (now known as Merck Chemicals). She financially supported the Edda-Gesellschaft, Heinrich Himmler's Ahnenerbe (ancestral heritage) and the Utrecht-born national socialist Herman Wirth.
