Very rare collection of booklets on illiteracy issued during the so-called "politionele acties", actually cruel major military offensives undertaken by the Netherlands against the Republic of Indonesia during its struggle for independence during the Indonesian National Revolution (1945-1949). The most notable items are 2 col. posters (53 x 38 and 50 x 65 cm, folded) showing chained books w. keys. (total 22 in 1 binder)
