Kwartjesboeken Approx. 215 var. vols. Helmond, 1932-1941. 108 titles of the Nederlandsche Jeugdbibliotheek-series (of 171), 39 titles of the Meisjesbibliotheek-series (of 101) and 7 titles of the Menko Minkema-series (of 9). Many duplicates, variants and later editions. The kwartjesboeken were a diverse series of cheap books sold during the economic crisis of the 1930s. Due to the poor quality of the paper they are often neglected by collectors and academics; this is despite the quality of the stories, as they contain some of the best youth literature of the time. Many writers and illustrators also made their name with the series, such as Charles Boots, Bert Voeten and André Rutten. Other writers who wrote for the series include Hans de la Rive Box, Nor Heerkens and Anny Hulsmans. Collections of this size are quite rare. Likely contains titles not in KB. Sold w.a.f. *Approx. 65 kg, please check shipping costs on our website. (approx. 215)
