A late Victorian Scottish silver mounted jewellery box in the form of a grand piano. The lid and hinged cover of the keyboard a applied with Scottish hardstones against an engraved background with thistles and Celtic motifs. The lid of the piano with hinged opening to reveal a velvet lined interior and the keyboard cover with interior fittings for rings. On three baluster legs, Edinburgh 1901 by James Aitchison. 20 x 12 x 9 cm. The hinge of the piano cover is detached, the lid does not close completely and there is a dent to the front left hand side at the base of the piano.
