Measurements: 38 x 49 cm.
Parchment binding on board, handmade and stitched with hemp string. 650 pages in excellent special paper that imitates the original parchment of the work, containing 1,300 images illuminated in gold, including capitals and decorations. Unique and unrepeatable edition of 999 copies, numbered and authenticated one by one by notarial act. The facsimile is accompanied by another volume of studies bound in cloth and written in two columns, like the original codex. It contains a study in Spanish on the work and its historical context, as well as the modern transcription in Portuguese of the original medieval texts. Both the facsimile and the study book (both in perfect condition) are delivered in a large box-case: 38 x 50 x 16 cm, lined in brown cloth, the same as the study book.
The Cronica Geral de Espanha of 1344 (General Chronicle of Spain) is a great and voluminous manuscript attributed to Count D. Pedro de Barcelos, son of the king of Portugal D. Dinís, in whose creation he took into account the one that was also elaborated in the Court of Alfonso X the Wise. Original preserved in the Academy of Sciences of Lisbon. Written in Galician-Portuguese of the mid-fourteenth century.
