After literary, philosophical and theological studies, he successively taught rhetoric and philosophy. He then held the chair of theology for five years. He wrote more than 80 literary, philosophical and theological works. Grabiel Cossarti was a French scholar, known as a historian. He taught rhetoric at the College de Clermont. There he was a librarian, described as "worldly" and a promoter of his students' careers. As a scholar he collaborated with Philip Labbei.
