A Chinese blue and white landscape rouleau vase. Jingdezhen. Qing dynasty (1644-1911). Kangxi period (1662-1722). Painted in various shades of (cobalt) blue on the body with a landscape with flowering rocks with, in front of a raised curtain, an emperor in palanquin with canopy behind back and fan in hand, surrounded by lancer and two servants, with messenger kneeling in front of him and horserider on the right with drawn sword, on the neck four panels with flowering twigs and a frieze with dots and crenellations. Double blue circle to base. Chip and hairline crack. Provenance: J. One minor flaw: a small chip (2 mm) on the upper outer rim (see detailed photos).
