THAILAND - Thai Sakyamuni (Maravijaya) Buddha in bronze with green patina from the Chien Saen period. 14th century.
Depicted seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus-shaped base between borders carved with a string of pearls, hands in bhumisparsa and dhyana mudras, dressed in a diaphanous body-moulding robe with pearl borders, face serene, half-closed eyes, arched superciliary arches, long, slightly curved earlobes, hair styled in curls rising into a dome forming the ushnisha, the base is unsealed and rests on a wooden plinth.
H. 42 cm, W. 28.5 cm, D. 17 cm
