Autograph letter signed by Marcel Pagnol, dated Paris March 25, 1965 on two recto pages on vellum du Marais letterhead.
In this letter, the writer thanks the Prefect of Gard for having kindly interceded in favor of obtaining a burial plot for his "uncle" Albert Bouvier: "These people from Gard are more stubborn and touchy than the Provençals from the coast".
Albert Bouvier is in fact a relative of his wife Jacqueline, and the case concerns the village of Ribaute-les-Tavernes.
