Guanyin in Chinese white porcelain, Dehua, China, 17th - 18th century
Depicted seated on a small base depicting rocks, wearing a long pleated robe open to the chest and adorned with a pearl necklace. Her face is serene, her eyes downcast and her hair covered by the robe. Her forehead is adorned with a central urna, and her earlobes are elongated. She holds a scroll in her left hand. Her bare right foot protrudes from the bottom of her dress. On the back is a molded double-gourd mark, difficult to identify.
