Porcelain baluster vase decorated in polychrome "doucai" enamels, China, 19th century
The central body is decorated with lotus flowers in foliage, and the upper part is embellished with two friezes of foliage motifs, one with flowers and sound stones. An undulating wave motif adorns the shoulder and banana leaves in the shape of a lingzhi head decorate the neck. The vase is flanked by two openwork molded handles in the shape of an elephant's head and a ring. A motif of petals and foliage adorns the flared foot. On the base, a blue underglaze Kangxi mark in kaishu with six characters rectified in black enamel over glaze.

Pierced at the base in the center of the mark. Small enamel chips.
