Pair of large celadon and blue enameled porcelain hu vases with landscape decoration, China, 19th century
Each vase is decorated on the body and neck with figures engaged in their activities in pavilions, on sampans or at the water's edge near bridges and huts on stilts in lake landscapes surrounded by rocks, pines, wutong, various trees and mountains in the distance. The collars are flanked by Buddhist lion-head masks with a ring. The background is white enamel.
