Pair of gu-shaped, 觚, porcelain vases in the famille rose style, China, 19th century
The flared necks enameled in polychrome enamels with two birds posed on a rock and on a branch among bamboos, peonies, camellias, various flowers and pomegranates between which butterflies fly. A motif of peony flowers among foliage on a yellow enamel background adorns the bulge in the central part. The lower, flared section is decorated with flowers and bamboo above a frieze of Greciques.
