White porcelain teapot with fish decoration, China, Tongzhi period (1861-1874)
Circular in shape, the body is decorated in polychrome enamels with red fish in seaweed, the shoulder with various flowers of cock's crest, prunus, lotus and a butterfly. The flat lid is decorated with a ruyi scepter and gourds. The base bears a six-character Tongzhi mark in zhuanshu. The handle is in brass.
