Note:
the artist travelled to London in the 1960s to study law, where he became involved with the Caribbean Artists Movement (CAM) in 1966, alongside Salkey, Ron Moody and Aubrey Williams. Lloyd was one of the first artists in Britain to start using consciously using 'Black' imagery in their art. His work has been exhibited at the pioneering 'No Colour Bar: Black British Art in Action 1960–1990' at the Guildhall Art Gallery, 2015-16, and internationally at the Studio Museum, Harlem, the Bronx Museum of the Arts and the Caribbean Cultural Center, New York.
