In-12, variously colored boards, first plate decorated with embossed decoration, titles (names of capitals) lithographed in black, all in a romantic box with two compartments, and flap for opening, richly decorated with a gold embossed border and a colored lithograph.
First edition. Each volume is devoted to a capital city, and illustrated with a delicate lithographed view colored out of the text.
Copy given to the student Jamain, with his repeated handwritten label for the Sphère et géographie prize, dated September 15, 1834.

A fine, complete set, preserved in its original box, a rare condition for these fragile children's books from the Romantic period.
