A band surrounded by a heliotrope flower, also gilded, is marked "Waffenfabrick von P. Knecht" on one side and "In Solingen" on the other. Attractive chased gilt bronze mounting, symmetrical straight quillon with flower bud terminal on rectangular base. The symmetrical cruciform guard is engraved with an acanthus leaf cross. Stock grip, ivory spindle embellished with hemispherical brass rivet covers. A ring-body chain joins the stock and quillon. Ring joint replaced and re-welded. In its black chagrin-covered wood-cored scabbard with three brass fittings. Two rings on bracelet. Circa 1830. Condition 1. CITES declaration in progress
