Élise THIERS, wife of the President of the French Republic. Eulalie Élise Dosne (1818-1880) was the daughter of Alexis Dosne, stockbroker, Receiver General of Finances for Finistère and Regent of the Bank of France, and Eurydice Matheron (1794-1869). She had a sister Félicie (1823-1906). In 1833, she married Marie Louis Joseph Adolphe Thiers, future President of the Republic. Adolphe Thiers maintained a relationship with Eurydice Dosne, then with Félicie, while married to Élise. - Autograph letter signed "Jules BARTHÉLÉMY-SAINT-HILAIRE" written in Paris on December 12, 1880, announcing the death of Madame THIERS + Death notice for Madame Élise THIERS + "Madame THIERS" visiting card.
