YVES EDGARD MULLER D'ESCARS (France, 1876-1958). Untitled. Oil on canvas. Presents restorations. Signed in the right inferior zone. Measurements: 80 x 100 cm; 104 x 121 cm (frame). A profuse boque of golden light serves as a frame to house the naked body of a young woman, who seems to sleep under the shade of a tree. During the eighteenth century and part of the nineteenth century in France dominated the Rococo, where paintings full of color, delicacy, charm and sensuality stood out. This work is heir to the aforementioned current in terms of theme. r Yves-Edgar Muller, a painter of French origin, began his artistic career in the workshop of Jules Lefebvre and Tony Robert-Fleury. He competed for the Prix de Rome in 1900, and won second prize again in 1903, and again in 1904 and 1906. He made his debut at the Salon de France for the first time in 1907. As for his work, he was one of the few artists who studied nudes en plein air, specializing in this genre.
