A LARGE BRONZE SEATED FIGURE OF AMITAYUS China, Ming Dynasty (probably 1524) Bronze. H. 42.8 cm. The crowned Amitayus is seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus pedestal base with both hands in dhyana mudra resting on lap. The figure is inscribed on the back "The twentieth day of the first lunar month in the third year of the Jiajing era". With traces of age, partially damaged. dam., with traces of age. Provenance: From an important private collection in Cologne.

The crowned Amitayus seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus pedestal with both hands resting on his lap in dhyana mudra. The figure is engraved on the reverse ''The twentieth day of the first lunar month in the third year of the Jiajing era''. Part damaged, with traces of age.
