The House of MASRIERA was a key player in the Spanish Art Nouveau movement, known as the "Modernista".
Lluis Masriera i Rosès (1872-1958), after studying in Switzerland and spending his early years in Paris, returned to Catalonia in 1901, where he developed the "Modernista" jewelry business in Barcelona. His creations are particularly characterized by the use of richly colored enamels.
